Reports suggest that thousands of people gathered in Chennai’s Chepauk on Friday to protest against the civil war in Syria where hundreds of people, including children, were killed in the past week. The protestors raised slogans against Russian President Vladimir Putin and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. A similar protest was held at Pattinapakkam depot. In the agitation, it was urged that the Indian government should interfere to bring the Syrian civil war to an end, reports added.
