An Rs 80 crore project under Greater Chennai Corporation involving the revamp of light infrastructures across several areas in the city is reportedly ready and awaiting approval. Under the project, sodium vapour lamps will be replaced with LED lamps and cables will go underground. According to TOI reports, eight zones including Thiruvottiyur, Manali, Madhavaram, Ambattur, Valasaravakkam, Alandur, Perungudi and Sholinganallur will get the revamp if approved.
