As a sigh of relief, 17 districts to receive rains in Tamil Nadu in the next 24 hours. As the state has witnessed dry heat and humid climate, this sudden rain and low temperature will bring a smile on people's faces.
The 17 districts which are set to receive rains are; Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, Vellore, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Erode, Tirupur, Trichy, Pudukkottai, Kovai, Nilgiris, Theni, Dindigul, Thirunelveli and Kanyakumari. In a statement issued by the Chennai Meteorological Department, 'South West monsoon season begins on June 1st. Parts of Chennai will receive thuderstorm along with light rain to medium rain.
Meanwhile, Tamilnadu Weatherman took to social media and said "Atlast rains starts in western parts of Chennai city. Areas of Ambattur, Ayapakkam are reporting rains. While some areas in T has been enjoying good rains for past one 1 hour."
