With the festival season, Chennai Metro rail offers 20%discount to all the commuters from 25th October to 31st October. Reportedly the discount is valid for the full stretch from Nehru Park to Airport and is applicable on both metro cards and tokens used by the passengers. Chennai Metro rail offered discounts in May when the underground stretch opened. According to media reports 22,000 - 25,000 people use Metro on a daily basis.
