Chennai man kills son, attempts suicide

A man, working as a manager at a mobile service centre on Jawaharlal Nehru Salai in Vadapalani, attempted suicide after killing his son by slitting his wrist on Friday night. Urmil Dolia’s wife Kalaiselvi asked an employee of the service centre to take a look at the centre after her husband and son didn’t return home. A staff, on opening the centre, found the boy Madhav in a pool of blood, while Dolia was found unconscious. Both of them were rushed to a private hospital in Vadapalani where Madhav was declared brought dead. Dolia is undergoing treatment at Intensive Care Unit of the hospital. Police have reportedly registered a case and have launched a probe.
