CHENNAI: MADRAS HC DENIES BAIL TO STALKER WHO BURNT WOMAN AND MOTHER ALIVE

The bail plea of Akash, who burnt alive Induja, a 22-year-old engineer and her mother, was denied by the Madras High Court on Saturday, on the grounds that the accused might destroy evidence in the case, if released.
Not able to take a no for his proposal, Akash, who was Induja’s schoolmate, burnt her in November last year, after gaining entry to her Velachery house.
While Induja's mother passed away in the hospital a few days following the incident, her younger sister Nivedha escaped with burn injuries.
