Anand, a 38-year-old private bank manager along with his eight-year-old daughter Tanuja Shree, died when the bike in which they were travelling, was hit by a truck from behind near Padi on Sunday night. The accident took place around 11.30pm on the fateful night when the family, which includes Anand’s wife Anushya and another daughter Sanchana, was returning home from shopping. The mother was admitted to a private hospital with injuries. The police said that the lorry driver Manoharan was driving under the influence of alcohol and was arrested.
