CHENNAI: COP DRIVING CAR INJURES PREGNANT WOMAN, ANOTHER COP ATTACKED

According to reports, a police constable, who was driving a car, injured a pregnant woman who was riding pillion with her husband in a bike on Friday in Adyar. The cop named Chandrakant was speeding the car and hit the two-wheeler from behind on Thiru Vi Ka Bridge on Friday night.
The husband and others tried to chase the vehicle and informed a police personnel who was on duty on Lattice Bridge Road. The cop intercepted the speeding vehicle and enquired Chandrakant. However, the latter didn’t reveal that he was a cop too and tried to get in another car. While the cop on duty tried to stop him, Chandrakant pushed him down and got into the car.
While the car vanished, the cop on duty, Stalin Jose, suffered injuries on his hands. However, later police traced and identified him as a constable. Reports suggest that Chandrakant later appeared before the Adyar police station.
