The Tamil Nadu government has released the official order of boundary extension in Chennai district. The boundary has been extended to locations including Arakkonam and Nemili taluk, and several villages in Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur districts. Under this boundary extension, 1,709 small villages will become a part of Chennai city.
