The police in Nepal on Thursday reportedly arrested Shabi Lal, the security guard at the Indian Overseas Bank branch in Virugambakkam, Chennai in connection with the robbery of the bank. Shabi Lal was missing since the robbery came to light on Monday morning. Chennai police reportedly sought Nepal police’s help through Interpol to nab the suspect. However, Nepal police refused to hand over Lal to Chennai police as there was no extradition treaty between India and Nepal to transfer suspects involved in criminal cases, says a Times of India report. A negotiation is on between Chennai police and Nepal police through CBI officials, a senior cop reportedly said.
