CHEEK-PATTING INCIDENT: JOURNALISTS DEMAND UNCONDITIONAL APOLOGY FROM GOVERNOR

A posse of journalists has written a letter to Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit in connection with the incident where he patted the cheek of a senior lady journalist during the press meet on Tuesday. In the letter, they have demanded that the Governor should offer an unconditional apology to the journalist in question. Stating that the Governor “crossed lines of not just basic courtesy but also those of the law,” they demanded an assurance from him that he will not violate their rights of all journalists of the state in the future.
