The much awaited +2 results were said to be announced on April 19, a day after the elections. The change in question pattern, this being the last year with the syllabus, all made the results a much anticipated one. The results have been declared today morning and this year, too, girls surpassed boys.
The exams were held between 1 and 19 March 2019. Overall, 8,69,423 students took the test of which 8,42,512 were regular school students and the rest were private students. Totally, 4,53,262 girls took the exam while 3,89,250 were boys.
Totally 91.3% of the students passed the exam; 93.64% were girls and 88.57% were boys. 1,281 schools got centum results of 7,083 higher secondary schools located in Tamil Nadu. Schoolwise reports are as follows: Government schools: 84.76%, Government aided schools: 93.64%, Matriculation schools: 98.26%, Co-education schools: 91.67%, Girls schools: 93.75%, Boys schools: 83.47%.
Of the 2697 differently abled students, 2404 students cleared the exam. 34 prisoners cleared the exam out of the 45 that appeared for the exam. Thiruppur came first with 95.37%. Erode and Perambalur came second and third with 95.23% and 95.15% respectively.
Of the last 4 years, this year, less students have appeared for exam. No transgender student appeared this year. Compared to last year, the pass percentage of both girls and boys are low. According to puthiya Thalaimurai, mark sheets are said to be given from tomorrow, April 20.
