Seventeen languages including the likes of Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati and Bengali have been removed from the list of official languages for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test.
The same is being seen as a disadvantage for students from Tamil Nadu since they need to compete with native Hindi speakers.
