The Union Cabinet on Wednesday reportedly decided to increase the retirement age from 60 to 65 for central government doctors. The central government doctors include those who work at railways, and also under the AYUSH scheme. The Minister of Health JP Nadda said that the reason for this decision is to face the shortage of doctors in government institutions. According to media reports, this decision will also help in training the new doctors and improve doctor-patient ratio in the country.
