The Union government has reportedly filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking two more weeks of time to implement the Supreme Court’s order on Cauvery water dispute. The SC said that the petition will be taken for hearing on May 3. The Centre earlier failed to come up with a framework to form the Cauvery Management Board by March 29 as per Supreme Court's order and sought more time. The top court ordered the Centre to prepare the draft by May 3. Now, the Central government has sought another extension.
