CAUGHT ON CCTV: COLLEGE STUDENTS STEAL PETROL FROM VEHICLES IN THE NIGHT

In Kanyakumari, college students have been caught stealing petrol from vehicles parked at a repair centre in the night. The centre’s owner had set up a CCTV camera in the place following frequent thefts of petrol. Three youths were caught in the video footage stealing petrol from the vehicles parked in the centre.
Following which, the owner Rajesh filed a complaint with police with the help of the CCTV footages. The footages show the youths stealthily entering his centre and drawing petrol from the vehicles in empty water bottles. During the police investigation, it was revealed that the three youths are college students. They also kept stealing vehicle spare parts.
Police have reportedly launched a hunt for the trio. The incident took place in Kalluvilai area of the district. Reports suggest that the incidents of theft of petrol from vehicles parked in repair centres and public places have been on the rise in the night.
