A 10-year-old boy survived after a button cell was removed from his body in Government Stanley Hospital in Chennai. Reportedly, Tharun from Nagapattinam swallowed a button accidentally while playing with the radio. The battery was stuck in his food pipe for two days which resulted in stomach ache and vomiting. He was taken to the Nagapattinam government hospital and was later brought to Chennai to operate. According to media reports, an endoscopic surgery was performed to remove the cell that was stuck in his food pipe. The battery has partiallly spread the chemicals inside the boy's body which will heals in the course of time.
