If things go according to plan, then the popular Chinese app Tik Tok might be banned in Tamil Nadu. In a discussion about the lip-sync app in the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly on Tuesday, requests to ban the app were raised.
Nagapattinam MLA Thamimun Ansari raised the issue that Tik Tok creates law and order problems and obscene activities take place there. He requested the government to ban the app. In response to the request, Information Technology minister M Manikandan assured that the government will recommend the central government to ban the app.
Tik Tok is a very popular app in Asia, with over 500 million users from the continent. However, Manikandan compared Tik Tok to Blue Whale challenge and stated that they will write to the Centre to ban it.
