An autorickshaw driver was reportedly arrested on Monday for robbing a final-year college student near Perambur on Sunday night. Reports say, the girl boarded the train at around 11.30pm on Sunday while returning from a friend’s marriage. However, the auto driver diverted the route where he snatched her possessions and pushed her out of the vehicle. The girl immediately raised an alarm and the bystanders nabbed the driver. The driver was reportedly handed over to the police and remanded in Puzhal Central Prison.
