SILVER COLOUR XYLO CAR AND RS 87 LAKHS; STORY OF CHENNAI ATM CAR DRIVER

Vinoth Kumar, a bank employee was en route to various ATM branches in Chennai on December 19 with security Beer Muhammad Ansari carrying INR 87 lakhs. Both of them were travelling in a Silver Xylo TN 07 CH 3733 driven by Anbu Rose.

First Vinoth Kumar filled INR 3 Lakhs in Teyanampet ATM followed by INR 25 Lakhs in two ATMs located in Ramanujam IT park. Then INR 2 lakhs was filled in Madhya Kailash ATM. Finally, Vinoth and Beer Muhammad stopped the car near Velachery Vijayanagar branch ATM at 5.45 pm. They had asked the driver Anbu Rose to keep an eye on the remaining 52 lakhs cash in the car and moved out with INR 5 lakhs to fill the ATM.

Moments later, Vinoth Kumar and Beer Muhammad returned to see Anbu Rose missing from the spot. Based on the complaint filed by Vinoth Kumar at the Jaffarkhanpet police station, Anbu Rose was arrested from his father-in-law home in Mannarkudi, Tiruvarur district. In the police investigation, Abu Rose confessed that he had acquired a car loan which was pending for a long time since he could not fetch enough income.

"Initially I did not plan to escape with the money. I was standing outside the ATM while a lorry came in front of my vehicle. To leave a way for the lorry, I had to move a bit. It was only during that moment I got thoughts to take the money and drive away.  I thought I could settle my car loan and get relieved from pressure. Then I stopped the car near RK Nagar and boarded the bus to Mannarkudi," said Anbu Rose who was later produced in front of the court and sent to jail.  The police officers have recovered INR 52 lakhs from Anbu Rose.
