CORONA ALERT: NUMBER OF CASES AND DEATHS IN TN MAY REACH A NEW HEIGHT IN COMING MONTHS - DR. MGR MEDICAL UNIVERSITY TEAM SUBMITS REPORT!

Dr. MGR Medical University conducted a study on the number of coronavirus cases in Tamil Nadu. While predicting the possible increase in the number of cases in the coming months, a shockingly high number has been submitted to the state government.

The first positive case was recorded on March 7. By April the number of cases increased to 234. However, by May the number reached 2,526. The number of cases are slowly climbing up. As of yesterday, TN has reported a total of 28,694 cases.

Taking these numbers into account the MGR University’s study says that at this rate, by July 15 almost 3.3 lakh people in TN will report positive and more than 1.5 lakh among them will be from Chennai.

Further the study also predicted that the total number of deaths will be 1,949 with around 1,654 deaths in Chennai alone. It also added that the numbers will steadily increase after July, which is in August and September. After which the numbers will begin to reduce. Hence according to the study, the worst for Chennai and other districts in Tamil Nadu is yet to come.

These figures have been sent to the state government, so that necessary action can be taken to curb the spread and flatten the curve.
