A day after Subashree’s death, AIADMK functionary Jayagopal who was held responsible for erecting the banner has rejected the accusations on him.

According to a News18 report, Jayagopal claimed that there is no possibility for the banner to cause Subashree’s death. However, the Pallikaranai police have booked him under Section Section 4 of The Tamil Nadu Open Places (Prevention of Disfigurement) Act, 1959 for installing the hoarding without permission.
Meanwhile, the Madras High Court has ordered the Tamil Nadu Government to pay Rs. 5 lakh as interim compensation to Subashree’s parents.
The 23-year-old techie faced death yesterday evening near Pallikaranai in Chennai after a banner erected under the instructions of former AIADMK councillor and MGR Mandram Assistant Secretary (Kancheepuram East) Jayagopal to announce his son’s wedding fell on her and a lorry ran over her.
