After violence in campus, Chennai university closes indefinitely

The Sathyabama University in Chennai has declared holiday without announcing the re-opening date as the students of the university were involved in violence following the suicide of a first-year girl student. Due to the indefinite leave, the exams have also been postponed, the students said. The girl from Andhra Pradesh committed suicide in her hostel room after being caught cheating and insulted in the exam hall. Enraged over her suicide, the students set the properties of the university on fire on Wednesday.
