9 TN VEHICLES CRASHED WITH EACH OTHER DUE TO SMOG; BRIEF REPORT

The prevailing climatic conditions in Tamil Nadu has caused significant discomfort and unfortunate incidents to the people, especially for two-wheeler and other vehicle drivers.

In an unexpected accident, 9 vehicles clashed with each other near Ranipettai in Valajapettai. Reportedly the incident happened due to extreme fog near Tollgate flyover.

A heavy-duty container lorry heading towards Chennai from Vellore ran out of control as the driver could not figure out the clear sight of the road ahead due to heavy fog. Therefore he had to apply sudden brakes on the road.

Followed by the sudden halt of the container lorry, 2 other lorries and 6 cars had to clash with each other. 

Reports say that 11 people were injured due to the accident and traffic came to a slowdown on Chennai to Bengaluru National Highways for 2 hours.

The information was passed over to the concerned police authorities who rushed to the spot and regulated the traffic.
