8-YEAR-OLD GOING TO SABARIMALA WITH DAD DEAD IN CAR ACCIDENT

A car got into an accident in Theni's cumbum at the wee hours on Friday morning and an 8-year-old girl died in the accident, reports Hindu Tamil.

Karthik, from Kanchipuram, is doing auto body building. He along with his friends Boopalan, Palani and few and his 8-year-old daughter were going to Sabarimala in car.

Srinivasan from Vellore was driving the car. At the wee hours, car lost control and rammed on a tree. The girl, sitting on her father's lap, suffered severe injury and died on spot. Others escaped with minor injuries.

Upon preliminary probe, it was found that the driver was feeling sleepy and drove the car which caused the accident. Police has sent the girl's body for postmortem.
