A former headmaster of a government school in Madurai was reportedly sentenced to imprisonment for 55 years by Madurai District Court on Tuesday for sexually assaulted 20 girl students of the same school. Manju, one of the victims' mother filed a complaint in a police station before 6 years against the headmaster. According to media reports, Arokiasami, 62 will also be paying a fine of Rs 12,32,500 for assaulting the students before 6 years. Reportedly the total punishment years were based on the caste of the victims. 5 years for abusing 5 SC/ST girls and 2 years for the rest of 15 girls account for 55 years [(5x5)+(15x2)=55 years].
