A 5-year-old boy reportedly died after drowning in a pit near his home in Thiruvottiyur on Saturday which was allegedly dug by a petroleum company a year ago. The boy’s parents searched for him as he went missing for a long time and found him floating in the rainwater, logged in the pit. When the boy was taken to a nearby private hospital, he was declared brought dead.
