Home > News Shots > Tamil NaduThere is good news for Chennai people, as the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) on Friday removed 40 streets in the city from the list COVID-19 containment zones. These areas have been removed from the list after it had not reported any new case of the coronavirus in the last 28 days.
Looking at the latest stats and updates, Tamil Nadu’s total of COVID-19 cases has crossed the 6,000-mark as 600 people tested positive for the disease on Friday, while Chennai itself recorded 399 new cases.
Taking a look at the recovery list, Royapuram area of Chennai had the highest number in recovery.
There were at least, 101 patients in the area who have been discharged after recovering from coronavirus. After that comes Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar which has registered 53 recoveries so far.
In the detailed graph, which was released by the GCC states that 62.78 percent people affected are men while 37.18 percent affected are female and 0.04 per cent are transgender.
