A 28-year-old man, identified as Avinash Poojan, was allegedly killed by his friends in Thiruvottriyur. Reportedly, Avinash was drunk when his friends picked a fight with him, and they killed him and buried the deceased in a godown near their house. The police arrested the accused who confessed that they demanded a ransom of Rs. 50 lakhs from Avinash's father. According to media reports, Avinash's father filed an abduction case after he received the call to pay the ransom. He later found that his son was murdered after the police investigation.
