The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board has reportedly sealed 23 dyeing units in Tirupur district after investigations proved that they polluted Noyyal river. Police reportedly said an investigation was conducted based on a complaint by a section of villagers that coloured water was being discharged into the river from the plant at Kasipalayam. The board ordered the suspension of production work in 23 units until further orders after the villagers managed to prove that the effluents were discharged during night.
