Home > News Shots > Tamil NaduAs India records 20th death in the country with more than 700 confirmed cases, Tamil Nadu Health Minister C. Vijayabaskar took to social media and confirmed two new cases in the state. With this new update, the state has reported 40 positive cases so far.
Taking to his social media handle, Tamil Nadu Health Minister said, "Tamil Nadu has two new positive cases. A 42-year-old, Male from Kumbakonam. He returned from West Indies and is currently at #TMCH Thanjavur. Another person, age, 49-year-old, Male from Katpadi, who returned from UK and is currently at #Vellore Pvt Hospital. Both the patients traveled from abroad transit via Middle East. They are in isolation and said to be stable."
The minister also made a special appeal to the people of the state, he posted another tweet with a video saying, "I appeal all voluntary organisations and NGO’s to come forward and arrange hand washing facility at the entrance of your street/apartment/office with water and liquid soap to prevent virus spread. Post pictures tagging."
Looking at the daily updates on medical facilities across the state, Tamil Nadu has so far placed more than 15,000 passengers under home quarantine for 28 days while 109 symptomatic passengers are being quarantined in quarantine facilities near airport.
