Huge number of engineering colleges to be shut in TN

According to a Deccan Chronicle report, out of over 600 engineering, architecture, MBA and MCA colleges in Tamil Nadu, affiliated with Anna University, five colleges did not apply for continuation of affiliation while 12 colleges have applied for closure. Reports say, other than these 17 colleges, many other colleges have also decided to surrender seats in branches including civil, mechanical and information technology due to poor enrolment.
