A 15-year-old died in Vellore, Tamil Nadu after she set herself on fire. Three youngsters who had videotaped her taking a shower, blackmailed the girl that pushed her to take the extreme step.
On June 13, the three accused men showed her the video that they had taken and began blackmailing her. Filled with terror, she set herself on fire. However, her parents managed to take her to a hospital where they declared her condition as critical.
The police immediately reached the hospital and recorded her deposition. The victim said that the three men had recorded videos of not just her, but other women as well. They cornered her and showed her video and asked for Rs.5000. The victim immediately informed her aunt who had suggested to inform the police.
However, the pressurised and helpless girl took the extreme step. She passed away on Tuesday after undergoing treatment.
The police arrested the three, who revealed that more number of people are involved in the case. Investigation has begun to jail the others as well.
