The Ramanathapuram police officers have ceased 1192 Liquor Bottles and Rs 38, 63, 300 from the residence of ADMK former Panchayat Union president Balu in Kamudhi. Reportedly the 'Mini Wine-Shop' was found during the raid that was conducted ahead of the TN Local Body elections this month.
Balu, Dharmalingam (Father), Periya Balu (Brother) and Raniyammal (Mother) are all Government contractors living in Kamuthi's Kannarpatti region. While Balu is contesting for the post of Union Councilor, Ranniyammal has enrolled her name for the election of Panchayat Union President in the local body elections which will be held this month.
Based on a tip-off, district SP Varun Kumar, Kumudhi DSP Mahendran, Flying Squad officer Jamal Ahmed and Inspector Gajendran raided Balu's residence and found 1192 liquor bottles and Rs 38, 63, 300. Reports add police also ceased more unaccountable cash. While speculations suggest the liquor bottles and cash are stored to bribe the voters, the police officers are investigating the case in various angles.
