ONE-YEAR-OLD GIRL CRUSHED TO DEATH BY SPEEDING WATER TANKER IN CHENNAI

A one-year-old girl died and her mother suffered injuries when a speeding water tanker hit a bike in Chennai's Pammal on Friday, reports TOI.

The child's father was riding the bike while her mother and the two children were riding on pillion. Near Pammal, a speeding water tanker knocked them down while trying to overtake them.

All four of them fell on road where the one-year-old girl was ran over by the truck and died on spot. The mother sustained severe injuries on her hip. The father and the other child escaped without any injury.

The locals attacked the driver and police rescued him from them and took him under custody. Investigation is on.
