Tamil Nadu defeated West Bengal by 37 runs to win the 2017 Vijay Hazare Trophy in Delhi on Monday. Batting first, Tamil Nadu posted a competitive total of 217 in their 50 overs, courtesy of Dinesh Karthik, the tournament top scorer’s resilient 112. West Bengal in their response was bowled out at 180, after Tamil Nadu bowlers Aswin Crist, M Mohammed and RS Shah grabbed two wickets each. Notably, Tamil Nadu became the only team to win the tournament five times.
