The state of Tamil Nadu has been reportedly chosen for the Krishi Karman Award. The award was given for the state's high performance in the production of foodgrains in the year 2015-16. According to reports, Tamil Nadu had produced 130 lakh tons of foodgrains in 2015-16. Notably, this was the highest production for Tamil Nadu in the last five years.
