BJP lawmaker Subramanian Swamy on Monday welcomed the police crackdown on pro-jallikattu protesters at Marina Beach in Chennai and said that said the protests were now pointless as their demands were being met. "Jallikattu is going to be legitimized by an act so what is the point in protesting?" he asked. Swamy further alleged that anti-national elements had taken over the initially peaceful protests.
