The US Geological Survey reportedly said a strong earthquake struck near Komandorskie Ostrava in Russia's far east on Wednesday. The quake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.9 hit at a depth of about 33 km just off the coast of the Bering Sea. According to the Hawaii-based Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, there was no tsunami threat after the quake.
