Srinath Narayanan becomes India's 46th Grandmaster

Srinath Narayanan from Chennai has become India's 46th chess Grandmaster after winning Spanish Grandmaster David Anton Guijarro at the Sharjah Masters on Wednesday. The 23-year-old crossed the 2500-mark on the FIDE rankings and has already achieved five GM norms. Notably, Narayanan had become India's youngest FIDE rated chess player in 2002 when he was just eight years old.
