Dhoni has announced that he will hand over the captaincy of the CSK team to Jadeja. Suresh Raina has congratulated Jadeja on Twitter.
The IPL series has been running since 2008. As the captains of each team have been changing since the first series of the IPL, Dhoni has only been the captain of the CSK team. Now, Dhoni has now handed over the responsibility to Ravindra Jadeja.

Ravindra Jadeja, an all-rounder for India, has so far played in 200 IPL matches and scored 2386 runs. The cricketer has taken 127 wickets in the IPL so far. Jadeja, who has been playing for Chennai since 2012, is currently the captain of the team.
Suresh Raina congratulates
Former CSK cricketer Suresh Raina has congratulated Jadeja on his appointment as the new captain.
Raina commented on his official Twitter page, "Absolutely thrilled for my brother. I can’t think of anyone better to take over the reins of a franchise we both had grown up in. All the best Ravindra Jadeja. It’s an exciting phase and I’m sure you will live up to all the expectations and love.
Suresh Raina was once appointed as the interim captain of the Chennai team following Dhoni's leave of absence from the series in 2010. It is to be noted that Raina captained the team for 4 matches in that series.
