Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson has been fined by the IPL management.
The 15th season of the IPL series is in full swing in India. The 5th league match was played at the Pune ground yesterday. Sunrisers Hyderabad, led by Kane Williamson, and Rajasthan Royals, led by Sanju Samson, clashed.
Kane Williamson, who won the toss, invited Rajasthan to bat. Batting first, Rajasthan scored 210 for 6 in 20 overs. Captain Sanju Samson top-scored with 55, Devdutt Padikkal with 41, Jos Butler with 35 and Shimron Hetmyer with 32.
Following this, Hyderabad played with a target of 211 to win. Captain Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma were the opening batsmen. Kane Williamson was dismissed for 2 and Abhishek Sharma for 9. Rahul Tirupati and Nicholas Pooran came next and were duck out.
Aiden Markram (57 *) played a sober game during this difficult time. However, Rajasthan could not cope with the bowling since the wickets fell in succession. At the end of 20 overs, Hyderabad lost only 149 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.
Now, the IPL management has imposed a fine of Rs 12 lakh for the slow bowling of Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson. Earlier, Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma was fined Rs 12 lakh for doing the same in a match against Delhi Capitals.
