Mohammad Kaif shares why Ravindra Jadeja stumbled in his first match as CSK captain.
The 15th season of the IPL series has started in India and is in full swing. The first match was played last Saturday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Jadeja-led Chennai Super Kings clashed with the Sreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders.
Batting first, CSK scored 131 for 5 in 20 overs. Maximum wicket keeper Dhoni scored 50 runs. Following this, Kolkata Knight Riders won by 133 runs in 18.3 overs.
Dhoni has stepped down as captain of the CSK team in this IPL series. Following this, the team's all-rounder Jadeja has been appointed as the new captain. Jadeja, who usually plays in action, showed a bit of a sober game in the first IPL league match against Kolkata. He faced 28 balls and scored only 26 runs.
Former India captain Mohammad Kaib has commented on the situation. In it, ‘Jadeja has been excelling in batting lately. But when he took over as captain, his batting became a little sluggish in the first match. The reason for that was that he looked nervous because the captain was in charge of him. He could not give up the old game due to the extra pressure of being the captain. I look forward to seeing him play as usual in the upcoming matches, "said Mohammad Kaif.
