The IPL league match between Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants was played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai yesterday. Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl.
Batting first, Lucknow scored 168 for 6 in 20 overs. The team's captain KL Rahul top-scored with 103 not out. For Mumbai, Pollard and Riley Meredith took 2 wickets each while Bumrah and Daniel Sams took 1 wicket each.
Batting next, Mumbai scored only 132 for 8 in 20 overs. So Lucknow won by 36 runs. Mumbai have suffered their 8th defeat in the current IPL series by losing the match. This is the first time in IPL history that a team has lost eight consecutive matches.
In this situation, the action taken by Lucknow team all-rounder Krunal Pandya in the match has caused dissatisfaction among the fans. Krunal Pandya bowled the 20th over of the match. Facing the first ball of the over, Pollard was caught out by Deepak Hooda and walked out. Krunal Pandya immediately teased him and went to shake hands with Pollard.
