Home > News Shots > SportsThe Rajasthan Royals have appointed a former Mumbai Indians coach as their fast bowling coach ahead of the start of the IPL series.
IPL 2022
The IPL matches are all set to kickstart from March 26. The schedule for the matches has recently been released by the BCCI. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the second half of last year's IPL series was held in the United Arab Emirates. Before that, the 2020 IPL series was held entirely in the United Arab Emirates due to the lockdown.
2 years later in India
And this time, all the matches will be played in India. Thus, after 2019, this will be the only IPL series to be played entirely in India.
Mumbai Indians record
The Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai team has won the trophy five times in the IPL series while Chennai Super Kings have won the trophy four times. Both these teams are considered as the "strong" teams in the IPL series.
Mumbai Indians' key person
One of the main contributors to the Mumbai Indians team's success was fast bowler Lasith Malinga. He is one of the highest wicket-takers in the IPL. He has not only retired from the IPL series, but also announced his retirement from international competition as well.
Malinga in Rajasthan Royals
This year, the Rajasthan Royals management has appointed him as the coach for their team's fast bowlers. Hopefully this will give the team extra strength. A photo of Malinga in a pink dress has been posted on the internet. Rajasthan Royals won the first trophy when the IPL series started. It is noteworthy that the team has lifted the trophy only once.
