2011 World Cup
The Cricket World Cup, which is held every 4 years, has millions of fans around the world. These matches will always be more than welcome. And don't even ask if India and Pakistan meet in the World Cup series, all the tickets will be sold out within the first few hours itself. The 2011 World Cup semi-final is one of those matches where there was no shortage of excitement. In this, India played against Pakistan.
Exciting match
In the first match played in Mohali, India scored 260 for 9 in 50 overs. India's Sachin Tendulkar top-scored with 85 runs. Chasing after that, Pakistan lost 4 wickets and scored 142 runs till the drinks break.
Then, Dhoni invited former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh to bowl. Recalling that moment, Harbhajan said, "There were times… when I was playing the India vs Pakistan World Cup match in Mohali. When Dhoni asked me to bowl in the second spell I actually started shivering. They were batting really well at that stage. He asked me to bowl after the drinks break. I did not want to show people the pressure."
Peace
He recalled a moment of calm and said, "You have to keep calm and think that you've done this before and for all these years, you have worked hard for this moment. Keep those emotions aside, focus, take a deep breath and do what you know you do best. I got a wicket off the first ball itself and it helped me get my confidence back. I was calmer and full of emptions after that wicket and it gave me that breathing space."
India won the match by 29 runs and advanced to the final. India's Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh and Ashish Nehra took 2 wickets each. Sachin Tendulkar was named Man of the Match.
