England and New Zealand players pay tribute to Shane Warne

The New Zealand team, which is touring England, is playing in a three-match Test series. The first Test was played yesterday (02.06.2022) at Lord's, London.

Batting first, New Zealand scored 132 and lost all their wickets. Granthome was the highest run scorer with 42 not out. For England, James Anderson and Mattie Pots took 4 wickets each while Ben Stokes and Stuart Broad took 1 wicket each. Following this, England batted in their first innings.

At this point a tribute was paid to former Australian player Shane Warne who disappeared in the match. In it, after the 23rd over of the match, both the teams lined up to pay their respects to Shane Warne. Immediately the spectators on the field stood up and clapped their hands for 23 seconds to pay their respects. A video of Shane Warne was then aired on TV.

Shane Warne died of a heart attack last March. This caused tragedy for world cricketers and fans. So world cricket teams are paying tribute to Shane Warne. In that manner, 23 seconds after the 23rd over of today's Test match between England and New Zealand, everyone applauded and paid tribute. The number 23 on the jersey worn by Shane Warne is remarkable.
