CSK captain Jadeja talks about Dhoni after winning the match against Mumbai Indians.
Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians clashed in the 33rd league match of the IPL 15th season. CSK captain Jadeja won the toss and elected to field.
Batting first, Mumbai lost openers Rohit Sharma and Ishant Kishan in the first over. This was followed by Suryakumar Yadav (32), Tilak Verma (51) and Hrithik Shokeen (25). So Mumbai scored 155 for 7 in 20 overs.
Following this, the CSK team played with a target of 156 to win. But opener Ruturaj was out in the first ball he faced. This was followed by Robin Uthappa (30), Ambati Rayudu (40) and Dwaine Pretorius (22).
In this scenario the CSK team was in a position to win if they hit 4 off the last 1 ball. Then Dhoni hit a bouncy ball. So CSK won by 156 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Dhoni was on the field till the last with 28 (13 balls) runs.
CSK captain Jadeja, who spoke after the match at this stage, said, "Actually we were very tense, the way the game was going, but at some stage we knew that the great finisher of the game was there and if he played to the last ball, he can definitely finish the match.
''He (Dhoni) showed the world that he's still here and he can finish the game.'' On Ambati Rayudu and Dwayne Bravo, he said, ''We have plenty of experience in our team so they know when to perform and what to do. So if we're not winning the game, still we look to be calm and relax. ''I don't take fielding for granted and still work on it. We need to do some work on our fielding and take catches because we can't keep dropping catches in every game,'' Jadeja said about his side's below-par fielding show in the match.
