IPL without Gayle ..
Chris Gayle, one of the achievers of T20 cricket and popularly known as the Universal Boss, is one of the most important entertainers in IPL cricket. He played for Kolkata, RCB and Punjab and is proud to be the highest scorer in the IPL series. He has been playing for Punjab for the last few years and has not played in the IPL this year. No team has bid for him this year. This was very shocking news for the fans. Gayle has been playing in the IPL since 2009 and is currently away from the IPL.
IPL Return
Following this, Gayle is currently commenting on playing again in the IPL series. "Next year I’m coming back, they need me! I’ve represented three teams in the IPL, Kolkata, RCB, and Punjab. Between RCB and Punjab, I would love to get a title, with one of those two teams. I had a great stint with RCB where I was more successful within the IPL, and Punjab, they’ve been good. I love to explore and I love challenges so let’s see what happens."
Universal Boss
Gayle, popularly known as Universal Boss, has played in 142 matches so far in the IPL series and has scored 4965 runs. This includes 6 centuries and 31 half centuries. He has hit 357 sixes in the IPL series and is the first player to score more sixes. His average is 39.72. Gayle, now 42, has said he will return to the IPL series to the delight of fans. But it is doubtful whether the teams will come forward to bid for him as he wishes.
