YUVRAJ SINGH REACTS AFTER RAHUL TEWATIA'S HITS 5 SIXES IN AN OVER; POST GOES VIRAL!
Home > News Shots > SportsDuring the clash between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), young Indian all-rounder Rahul Tewatia stole the show with his heroic skills that helped his team win the match.
During the match, Tewatia slammed a sensational knock of 53 runs off just 31 balls that helped the Royals pull off the biggest chase in the history of IPL. With a target of 224 runs, the Rajasthan Royals got off to a terrible start as Jos Buttler (4) got out too soon. Then, captain Steve Smith (50) and Sanju Samson (85) headed strong and added a crucial 81-run stand before James Neesham removed Smith.
Meanwhile, Samson, who continued the run-flow was not getting the ideal support from the other end in the form of Tewatia. Minutes later, he departed in the 17th over with 62 to get from 23 balls.
After Samson’s dismissal, KXIP was back in action, Tewatia got into the act and launched an all-out attack against Punjab. When pacer Sheldon Cottrell came to bowl, Tewatia smashed five sixes in the over to snatch victory.
The 27-year-old missed out from breaking former India Yuvraj Singh’s record of six sixes in an over. After the match, Yuvi reacted hilariously to Tewatia’s outstanding effort by thanking the latter for not breaking his record.
Yuvraj Singh took to his twitter handle saying, "Mr @rahultewatia02 na bhai na thanks for missing one ball ! What a game congratulations to rr for a spectacular win !!! #RRvKXIP @mayankcricket great knock @IamSanjuSamson brilliant."
Till date, Yuvraj remains the only Indian to have hit six sixes in a T20I game. He made this big achievement against Stuart Broad in India's clash against England in the 2007 World T20.
